Building Bridges: From Awareness to Action in Gilbert
There are moments when leadership is not about position—but about response.
We are living in a time where communities are being called to do more than acknowledge problems. We are being called to engage them—together.
Over the past few months, I’ve been reflecting deeply on what it truly means to build bridges across our community—between the public sector, private sector, and our faith community. Not in theory, but in action.
This week is one of those moments.
Protecting the Vulnerable in Gilbert
Friday, April 24 | 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Park University – Room 153
92 W Vaughn Ave
Gilbert, AZ 85233
This Friday, I’ll be hosting the Building Bridges Leadership Seminar: Protecting the Vulnerable in Gilbert.
This is more than an event—it’s a call to align.
In January, our town took an important step by recognizing Human Trafficking Awareness Month. But awareness alone is not enough. The real work begins after the proclamation—when we translate words into coordinated, local impact.
This seminar brings together leaders across:
Public safety
Nonprofit organizations
Faith-based leadership
Private sector professionals
Our goal is simple but urgent:
to strengthen how we prevent, respond to, and ultimately reduce vulnerability in our community.
Community Meet & Greet
Sunday, April 26 | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Waterston Community Clubhouse
5406 S Stonecreek Blvd
Gilbert, AZ 85298
Then on Sunday, I’m opening up space for something just as important—connection.
Our Community Meet & Greet is an opportunity to gather, listen, and engage directly. No stage. No formal program. Just conversation.
If Friday is about alignment,
Sunday is about relationship.
Why This Matters
Too often, our systems operate in silos:
Government working separately from nonprofits
Businesses disconnected from community realities
Faith communities carrying burdens without broader support
But the issues we face—especially something as complex and urgent as human trafficking—do not exist in silos.
They exist in the spaces between us.*
And that’s where bridges must be built.
A Personal Commitment
As the Founder and President of the Building Bridges Leadership Foundation, my mission is to create platforms where collaboration replaces isolation, and action follows awareness.
This is not about a single event.
It’s about building a model for how communities can come together—consistently and intentionally.
A model where:
Leaders don’t just speak—they collaborate
Communities don’t just gather—they mobilize
And impact doesn’t stop at awareness—it becomes sustained action
